Delhi: India’s trusted batsman Cheteshwar Pujara announced to retire from Test cricket on Sunday. 37 -year -old Pujara made his Test debut against Australia in Bangalore in 2010 and now he said goodbye to his long career.

Cheteshwar Pujara played a total of 103 Tests and scored 7,195 runs. His average was 43.60, including 19 centuries and 35 half -centuries. His record in domestic cricket is even stronger-21,301 runs, 66 centuries and 81 half-centuries in 278 first-class matches. His biggest score was 352 runs and average 51.82.

Historical contribution to Australia

Pujara was part of India’s historic victory when Team India defeated Australia in the 2018-19 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. In that series, he scored 521 runs in 7 innings and played an important role in giving India a 2–1 victory.

When India defeated Australia in 2020-21 too, Pujara scored 271 runs in four matches. During this, he scored three half -centuries, the biggest innings was 77 runs.
