BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed that the agreement with Dream 11 is over and the BCCI is in the process of searching for new title sponsors for various national teams.

Saikia told PTI, “Our stand is clear. BCCI Dream 11 or other gaming company cannot lay a sponsored agreement after the rules are made. There is no scope for it now under the new rule.

He said, “So we are looking for other options and the process is going on.” We are looking for a sponsor and the process is not yet complete. When something is decided, we will give information to the media. ”

Cricket is a game in which the trend of gaming of real wealth has increased considerably. The title sponsor of the Indian team was Dream 11 and the official fantasy sports partner of the Indian Premier League is the online gaming platform ‘My 11 Circle’ with real money.

Dream 11 bought the title rights of the Indian team for about US $ 44 million (about Rs 358 crore). There is still one year left for their agreement to end, but they will not be punished for this.

A top board official said, “The BCCI fully understands its sponsor. This is not their fault and no penalty will be imposed on Dream 11 like other cases of payment in payment. This is a government rule and its complete compliance is necessary and their business will be affected in the current situation.

He said, “The benefits of the board will also be affected for some time but we have to make a new plan.”

The official also said that there is only 15 days left in India’s first match in the Asia Cup in UAE, so the new sponsor is difficult to find before that.

He said, “The process is going on. We have to advertise for the title sponsorship of the national team. After this, whatever proposals will come, a decision will be taken after reviewing them. it will take time .”
