Delhi: Former Indian cricketer Sadgopan Ramesh has accused Team India coach Gautam Gambhir of biased. He says that Gambhir only supports those players who like them and ignore the rest of the players completely. Gambhir was made the head coach of Team India in place of Rahul Dravid in July last year and since then he has been in the headlines continuously.
Gambhir’s journey of coaching is still mixed. Initially, the team also lost a crushing defeat in the Test series against New Zealand and Australia after losing the ODI series against England. However, drawing a five-Test series 2-2 against England is considered to be a major achievement of Gambhir.
Gambhir accused of favoritism
On his YouTube channel, Sadgopan Ramesh said, “Gambhir supports the same players who they like, leave the rest. First the habit of winning abroad started during Kohli and Shastri. Now being England Series Draw is considered a big thing.”
Ramesh also questioned the Indian team selected for the Asia Cup 2025. He believes that Shreyas Iyer and Yashasvi Jaiswal should have been in the team. He said, “Gambhir’s biggest achievement is the Champions Trophy. The biggest reason behind that victory was Shreyas Iyer. Still not supporting Gambhir Iyer. An X-Factor player like Jaiswal should play in every format. It is wrong to keep him in standby. Iyer performed brilliantly in the UAE and at this time when he is in the form, he is not understandable to keep him out of the team, then he is not understandable.”
