Delhi: Just two days after the announcement of India’s Asia Cup 2025 team, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has started searching for two new senior selectors. After Shubman Gill and Jaspreet Bumrah’s return to the T20 team, now the selection committee is ready to change.
The BCCI has sought applications for two posts in the Senior Men’s Selection Committee. The new selectors will be responsible for choosing a team of all formats including Test, ODI and T20.
To become a national selector, it is necessary for the player to have experience in first-class cricket. Candidates should fulfill either of the following qualifications:

According to a report by Hindustan Times, former spinner Pragyan Ojha can be brought in place of S Sharat. At the same time, Sharat can be made the head of the Junior Men’s Selection Committee.
While two members can be replaced, Ajit Agarkar has been expanded till 2026 due to his good performance. He took over this post in July 2023 and since then the team has got many major successes.
According to BCCI officials, “The Indian team led by Agarkar has won many trophies and the transitions in Tests and T20 were also successful.”
