Former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif has slammed the critics of Jasprit Bumrah and warned them to be careful before uttering anything bad about the pacer. Bumrah is under the scanner for missing two Tests in a five-match series against England.

He has been questioned for his pick-and-choose policy. Some of the cricket experts highlighted stats which show that India wins matches when Bumrah is not around after the sub-continent team lost both games he played.

Kaif pointed out the number of matches Bumrah has won for India. “Open your mouth carefully because you said we lost matches when he played in England. You should look at the number of matches he has won for India across formats.

“Check out the number of match-winning performances he has given. He is the diamond of India. You can’t report him, and there are no stains on him,” Kaif said.

The pacer will play in the Asia Cup, which will be played in the UAE. He is likely to be rested from the two-Test series against the West Indies at home.

The BCCI and the selectors have decided to use him in important series and tournaments, as the medical team has suggested resting him when possible.
