India batter Prithvi Shaw doesn’t need sympathy as he made a fresh start in his career. The 24-year-old left Mumbai to play domestic cricket for Maharashtra to revive his career. The right-handed batter scored a hundred in the Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament.

“I don’t want sympathy,” Shaw said. He was at his best against Chhattisgarh at Guru Nanak College Ground in Chennai.

“I don’t mind starting from scratch because I have seen ups and downs in my life. I have been down and have come back. Everything is possible, and I am feeling confident at the moment. I hope this season will go well for me and my team,” he added.

He also went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Shaw is not looking to make any changes. “I don’t want to change anything. I have returned to the basics, and I am working the way I used to in Under-19 days. I am practising more and going to the gym.”

The young batter is avoiding distractions. “I am trying to stay away from social media to avoid distractions. I am at peace when I am not using it. As I said, I believe in myself,” he concluded.

He hopes consistent performances will help him return to the Indian National Cricket Team.
