Delhi: Sanju Samson has caught everyone’s attention by playing a tremendous innings amidst the ongoing discussions about the place in the Asia Cup 2025. On 15 August, an exhibition match was played between Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) Secretary XI and President XI at the inauguration of Fludlights at the Greenfield Stadium in Trivandrum. In this match, Samson played a stormy innings of 54 runs off 36 balls.

Sanju did amazing as captain

In this match, Samson was captaining the Secretary XI while the President XI was commanded by Sachin Baby. Chasing the target of 185 runs, he played brilliant shots while batting at number four for Samson’s team.

Vishnu Vinod also

Sanju got a brilliant support with Vishnu Vinod in this innings, who played a stormy innings of 69 runs off 29 balls. The partnership between the two brought the team closer to victory. Finally, Samson was dismissed for 54 runs but his team won the match by one wicket and two balls remaining.

Along with the bat, shone in fielding

Not only batting, Samson also showed his great hold in fielding. He sent opposition captain Sachin Baby to the pavilion with just 3 balls while catching a tremendous catch with one hand in the slip.

Increase in confidence before selection

Although it was just an exhibition match and the selectors may not take it very seriously, but this performance will definitely increase Samson’s confidence. This was a big opportunity for this player who spent most of the time on the bench last year due to injury.
