DPL 2025: Harshit Rana fined for a send-off

Harshit Rana, the captain of North Delhi Strikers, has been fined for his aggressive send-off during Match 19 of the Delhi Premier League 2025 on Monday, August 11, at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The incident occurred during the third over of West Delhi’s innings, who were chasing a target of 166.

Rana made an early impact by dismissing Ayush Doseja, taking out his stumps with a fast delivery. The bowler then gave Doseja a send-off, urging him to leave the field.

This behaviour led to a penalty of 10% of his match fees for breaching the code of conduct under Article 2.5. Harshit admitted to a Level 1 offence, which concerns ‘using language, actions, or gestures that could provoke an aggressive reaction from an opponent.’

“Harshit Rana has been fined 10% of his match fees for violating the Adani Delhi Premier League T20 Code of Conduct. Rana acknowledged the Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 and accepted the sanction imposed by the Match Referee,” DPL said in a statement.

In the match, North Delhi Strikers set a total of 165/9 in their 20 overs after choosing to bat first. Sarthak Rajan was the top scorer with 42 runs off 33 balls, and Arjun Rapria contributed 40 runs from 22 balls. Mayank Gusain was the standout bowler for West Delhi, taking 3/2, while Shubam Dubey picked up two wickets for 26 runs.

In their chase, West Delhi Lions were restricted to 154/8 in 20 overs. Deepanshu Gulia claimed 3/44 for North Delhi Strikers. Although Hrithik Shokeen fought hard with a knock of 51 from 24 balls, West Delhi fell short of the target.
