Watch out, Cameron Green’s form might just ensure that he gets paid the highest salary at the upcoming IPL 2026 mini auction. Fresh from his stellar T20I series outing against the West Indies, Green smashed a 13-ball 35, narrowly missing out on an all-time Australian record, in the first T20I against South Africa, on August 10 (Sunday).

Green had the glorious opportunity to smash the fastest-ever half-century for an Australian batter, when he was on 31 off nine balls. But the all-rounder could not connect two out of the next three balls before being deceived by a slower ball.

When the all-rounder returned to the dressing room, his score read: 35 off 13, with the Australian all-time fastest half-century coming off 16 balls. Earlier this year, RCB’s current finisher Tim David got to that landmark, completing his half-century in the West Indies off just 16 balls, surpassing Marcus Stoinis’ 17-ball efforts.

Green might just break all records in the upcoming 2026 IPL Auction, given his stellar form. The giant all-rounder smashed 205 runs in the five-match series against the West Indies, where he averaged 68.33, at a strike rate of 164.00. Green last played at the IPL back in 2024, featuring for RCB, after which an injury prevented him from entering the IPL 2025 mega auction.
