Before the Oval Test, there was a dispute between the Indian coach Gambhir and Curator Fortis. Irfan Pathan reacted to this and accused England of adopting a double attitude. He asked if we are still in the 1947 era. Coach Kotak also described Fortis as dry.
Delhi: Former Indian all -rounder Irfan Pathan has also expressed resentment over the controversy about the pitch between India and England before the Oval Test. Pathan has accused England of double attitude over the debate between pitch curator Lee Fortis and Indian coach Gautam Gambhir.
After India’s victory over the West Indies Champions at the World Championship of Legends, Irfan wrote on social media, “An English coach can go to the pitch and inspect it but not an Indian coach? Can we still live in colonial (colonial) round?”
Irfan said that curator Lee Fortis has been in controversies before and has often seen dryness in their behavior with foreign teams. He mentioned an old photo of England coach Brendon McCullum, in which he was standing on the same pitch two days before the match.
Irfan also targeted the media and said that the English media is deliberately presenting Gambhir like a villain. He said, “We call foreign teams in India on the red carpet. But when we go abroad, we are stopped in the name of rules.”
India’s batting coach Sitanshu Kotak also gave a statement on this dispute. He told that Fortis’s behavior was shocking for him. Kotak said, “We only went to see the pitch. Nobody wore a spike. We were asked to stay 2.5 meters away. It felt very strange.”
Kotak said that the Indian players had already told that this curator is not very ally. He said, “The worry of the pitch is fine, but this kind of behavior is not good.”
