Delhi: England have included Jamie Overton in the team for the fifth and last Test match against India. The match will start from 31 July at Kennington Oval ground in London. Host England wants to win the series by winning this Test, especially after India was drawn in the Manchester Test.

Overton returns to Test team

Jamie Overton has played only one Test for England so far, which was against New Zealand in 2022. In that match, he scored a brilliant 97 runs and also took two wickets. But after this he was dropped from the Test team. In the recent past, overton has become a white ball player and is participating in T20 leagues, such as IPL, around the world. He has so far played 6 ODIs and 12 T20 International matches for England.

No change in the rest of the team

Apart from overson, there has been no change in the England team. This is the same team that was selected for the Manchester Test. The statement on behalf of the England Cricket Board said, “The England Men’s Selection Committee has added the all -rounder of Surrey to the team for the fifth Test match, which will start at Kia Oval on 31 July.”

Return of Josh Tong

Fast bowler Josh Tung, who was released from the team during the Manchester Test, has been again included in the team. England is expecting a better performance in the Oval Test as he did not get any benefit from the changes made in the fourth Test. Spinner Liam Dawson could not leave the impact in the second innings and the Indian team succeeded in drawing a draw.
