Delhi: Former England cricketer Jonathan Trot believes that Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is more impressive when he gets support from the other end. Indian bowling in the Manchester Test has failed to create pressure and it has also affected Bumrah’s bowling.

Jonathan Trot talks about Bumrah

Trot said in a conversation on Geographistar, “Bumrah has bowled well, it is clearly visible from his economy rate. Luck did not support him. But, the real problem is to pressurize both ends.”

He said that when the bowling unit is a bit weak, it becomes necessary to put pressure from both ends together. On Friday, Bumrah did not get any special help from the other end. This must have been the reason, due to which Bumrah is not able to take a desert.

Questions raised on bowling combination

Trot also questioned the performance of Anshul Kamboj. He said that Kamboj did not live up to the needs of Test cricket. At the same time, he also described India’s bowling combination as weak.

Trot said, “The fast bowlers took just three wickets in 82 overs, while the spinners took four wickets in 52 overs. It is clear that spinners should have got more chance. This is an aspect that India needs to think again.”
