Delhi: The fourth match of the five -match Test series between India and England is being played at the Old Trafford ground in Manchester. In the first session of the first day, Indian openers, KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal batted brilliantly and gave the team a strong start. Both shared a 94 -run partnership for the first wicket. Jaiswal scored 58 runs, while Rahul played an important innings of 46 runs.

Manjrekar appreciated the performance of both openers

On ‘Match Center Live’, former India batsman Sanjay Manjrekar praised KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal, saying, “The first session was in favor of India thanks to these two openers. He performed the best defensive technology and strong mentality.”

Expected to get a trusted opening pair

Manjrekar further said, “In foreign circumstances, India is always looking for a trusted opening pair. Now it seems that the pair of Rahul and Jaiswal is living on the expectation. This combination of right and left -handed batsmen is making a century partnership, which is reliable. This can be expected from this pair, which is very important for the team.”

Fierce praise for Yashasvi’s game

Sanjay Manjrekar, especially praising young batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal, said, “South Africa was his first foreign tour, which was probably the most difficult. But, he has learned a lot from the experience there and is doing better now. Next time he can show even better games.”
