Overview:

Avesh Khan’s right knee injury required surgery on June 17, while Mohsin underwent an ACL reconstruction in the past month, as reported by the Times of India. Both players are now focusing on rehab at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.

India’s fast bowling depth has been notably impacted by a series of injuries in recent times. On the current tour of England, Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh are both sidelined due to injuries, while all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, known for his pace bowling, has been ruled from the series. Back in India, the outlook remains challenging as Avesh Khan recently underwent knee surgery. Last month, Mohsin Khan also had knee surgery and is now in recovery, with both expected to remain out of action for the next five to six months.

The Lucknow Super Giants’ official X account posted a photo of Avesh Khan after his surgery, with Mohsin also pictured alongside him. Dr Dinshaw Pardiwala, a well-known Mumbai-based surgeon, performed both surgeries. He has previously treated players like Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant. Avesh and Mohsin both play for LSG in the IPL.

Mohsin has been dealing with his knee injury since December of last year, when he tore the ACL during a Vijay Hazare Trophy match. As a result, he was ruled out of IPL 2025, despite being retained by LSG. He is also likely to miss the first part of the domestic season.

Avesh Khan, despite struggling with a knee problem at the beginning of IPL 2025, managed to take 13 wickets in as many matches by the end of the tournament. Avesh remains under consideration for India’s white-ball squad, having last represented the country in an ODI against South Africa in December 2024. In 25 T20Is and 8 ODIs, Avesh Khan has taken a total of 36 wickets for India.
