Main point:

Kuldeep Yadav is continuously practicing in the nets on the England tour, but till now he has not got a chance in the playing XI. Old traffic pitch helps spinners. Former players have demanded to feed Kuldeep. Now everyone’s eyes are on selection.

Delhi: Team India’s Chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav has been continuously training with the team in England for almost a month, but till now he has not got a chance in playing XI. He had to sit outside in the three Tests played at Leeds, Edgbaston and Lords.

On Thursday, Team India trained in the overcast season at the Becanham Ground in Manchester. During this, Kuldeep was seen bowling Karun Nair and Abhimanyu Ishwaran. He bowled in the nets for about an hour.

There was no chance in Lord’s Test either

In the last matches, India fed Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja as spin all -rounder. Sundar took wickets at Lord’s, while Jadeja took over the team while struggling with the bat in the second innings. Because of this, the team management went with all -rounders instead of Kuldeep.

Former players claimed for Kuldeep

Former Indian wicketkeeper batsman Farooq Engineer and former England captain Alan Lamb has demanded to include Kuldeep in the final XI. Lamb said, “India does not have any specialist spinner at this time. Old Trafford’s pitch helps the spinner, so Kuldeep should be fed immediately.”

Will you get a chance this time?

Kuldeep has made a Test debut in 2017 and has played 13 Tests for India till now. He has also won the Player of the Match Award several times. But due to the presence of Ashwin, Jadeja and Akshar, he had to stay out continuously. Now that Ashwin has retired from Test cricket, and the team needs a wicket -taking spinner, Kuldeep can get a chance in the Manchester Test.

Now it has to be seen what strategy India team adopts. Old Trafford’s pitch helps spinners and Team India will have to take every step carefully to return to the series.
