Overview:

Akash Deep is also down with a groin niggle and didn’t bowl in the nets before the team left for Manchester. The fast bowler had left the field on Day 4 of the Lord’s Test.

Arshdeep Singh is unavailable for the fourth Test match against England, starting on July 23. According to the Indian Express, Arshdeep needed stitches for the cut he sustained on his bowling hand during a practice session on July 17.

He is not going to recover for the important match.

The 26-year-old was selected for the first time in the Test team. He didn’t make his debut in the first three Tests, with the management going ahead with Prasidh Krishna and Akash Deep.

“He has stitches on his hand and won’t be available for the the selection for the fourth Test. The team will see if he recovers for the fifth and final game,” a source told the Indian Express.

Akash Deep is also down with a groin niggle and didn’t bowl in the nets before the team left for Manchester. The fast bowler had left the field on Day 4 of the Lord’s Test.

Injuries to pacers are a massive blow for the Indian National Cricket Team. They may be forced to play Jasprit Bumrah in the crucial match. He came to England with a clear plan of competing in three contests to manage his workload and prevent another back injury. He has already played in Leeds and Lord’s while he was rested at Edgbaston.

He has taken two fifers so far. If both Arshdeep Singh and Akash Deep are ruled out, then India will have to go in with Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Prasidh Krishna.
