DC Vs GT: The 40th match of IPL 2024 was played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. In this match, Delhi defeated Gujarat by 4 runs. Batting first, Delhi scored 224 runs losing 4 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Gujarat team could score only 220 runs. Rishabh Pant was taking Gujarat towards victory but Mukesh Kumar trapped him in his slower one.

Wicketkeeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha and captain Shubhman Gill came out to start the innings for Gujarat. GT got its first blow on the third ball of the second over. Gill became the victim of Nortje after scoring 6 runs in 5 balls.

There was a partnership of 82 runs for the second wicket between Sai Sudarshan and Saha, Wriddhiman Saha was looking in good form. But Kuldeep Yadav got him caught by Akshar Patel and let him go. Saha played an innings of 39 runs in 25 balls. He hit 5 fours and 1 six.

Sai Sudarshan was playing a good innings. He was moving towards his century but Rasik Salam dodged him and got him caught out by Akshar Patel. He played an innings of 65 runs in 93 balls. After the second wicket fell, Gujarat’s next three wickets fell rapidly. The third wicket fell at 98 runs, the fourth wicket at 121 runs and the fifth wicket at 139 runs.

David Miller’s bat

David Miller was taking Gujarat closer to victory but he got out while attempting a shot in the third ball of the 18th over. Miller played an innings of 55 runs in 23 balls. Miller hit 6 fours and 3 sixes in his innings. Rashid Khan batted well in the last. He played an innings of 21 runs in 11 balls.

Rasik Dar Salam took 3 wickets for Delhi. Whereas, Kuldeep Yadav took 2 wickets. Akshar Patel, Anrich Nortje and Mukesh Kumar took 1-1 wicket.

Captain Pant and Akshar played brilliant innings

Captain Rishabh Pant and Akshar Patel attacked from Delhi side today. Both of them batted very well. Pant played an unbeaten inning of 88 runs by hitting 4 sixes and 5 fours in 43 balls. At the same time, Akshar Patel scored 66 runs in 43 balls with the help of 5 fours and 4 sixes. Tristan Stubbs also played an innings of 26 runs in 7 balls.
