Batting first, Australia scored 225 runs in their first innings where Shamar Joseph picked four wickets while Jayden Seales and Justin Greaves picked three wickets each.
Responding to that, West Indies scored 143 runs in their first innings, where Australia bowling department dismantled the hosts lineup.
Australia posted 121 runs in the second innings of the game where Shamar Joseph and Alzarri Joseph picked four and five wickets respectively.
With a target of 205 runs, West Indies opened their second innings where they scored only 27 runs and lost the game by 176 runs.
Mitchell Starc was named as the Player of the Match. “It’s been a fantastic series. I think we’ve seen some difficult batting conditions throughout,” said Starc in the post match presentation.
“It’s been a good few days, very enjoyable and I’ll go home with a smile on my face. We saw last night the conditions with the hard pink ball under lights. It’s pretty difficult. We didn’t think it would happen as quickly today, until the sun went down a bit.”
Meanwhile West Indies captain Roston Chase said, “It’s heartbreaking to be in a position where we think we can win the game and then come out and have that poor batting display.”
“It’s something that has been recurring for the whole series – that makes it even more disappointing,” concluded Roston Chase.
