Jasprit bumrah: The ongoing Test series between India and England is being discussed more than the Duke ball outside the field. For the second consecutive time, questions were raised on the quality of Duke Ball at Lord’s and this time, this time the star bowler of Team India Jasprit Bumrah was sought an opinion on this.
But Bumrah, showing great understanding, kept distance from controversy. On the second day of the third Test, Jasprit Bumrah took a tremendous spell and took three big wickets from the new ball within 14 balls, but just after 10 overs of this brilliant bowling, the ball’s shape started deteriorating.
Indian team unhappy with ball
Indian captain Shubman Gill demanded the umpires to change the ball. Team India definitely got a new ball, but that ball was barely able to make swing or seam movement, which showed water to the hard work of Bumrah and fellow bowlers.
Jaspreet Bumrah’s shocking statement
In the press conference after the match, when Bumrah was asked a direct question on the Duke Ball controversy, he clearly said – “The ball keeps changing, I have no control over it. I do not want to give a controversial statement because I work hard and put a lot of overs.
I do not want to lose my match fee.”
Discussion on the ball intensified
In this Test series between India and England, discussions about the ball have been intensified so far. In the first two Tests of the series, teams have expressed dissatisfaction many times over the shape and grip of the ball. It will be seen to see what the ICC takes in this case.
