India defeated England by 336 runs in the second Test to level the series 1-1. Chasing 608 to win, the hosts were bowled out for 271 in the fourth innings of the match. Akash Deep was his team’s hero with the ball, taking six wickets in England’s second innings. Overall, he took 10 wickets in the game. Shubman Gill scored twin hundreds, including a double century.
Mohammed Siraj dismissed 6 batters in the first innings. Ravindra Jadeja struck two fifty-plus scores and also bowled well. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant also contributed with the bat. India responded brilliantly after losing the series opener by 5 wickets in Leeds.
