Former cricketer Suresh Raina has gained popularity among fans for his on-field performances and also for his off-field ventures. He opened a restaurant in Amsterdam and is frequently seen in the commentary box. In an exciting turn of events, Raina has confirmed that he will be making his acting debut in a Tamil film.

Dream Knight Studios (DKS), the production house behind Raina’s film debut, shared a video on their official social media page, announcing the news. The video features Raina, marking the start of a new phase in his career. During the press conference, Raina discussed about his acting career. He explained that the story resonated with his own experiences of playing for Chennai Super Kings.

“I think DKS has an excellent director, and when the story was presented to me, it really resonated with our journey. Given that it’s a cricket-themed film, starting in Tamil Nadu was the right choice, as I’ve played for CSK and have always received love from the people,” Raina said.

Raina also revealed how his new acting venture would allow him to explore life beyond cricket. He believes he would become a good singer, replacing his cricket bat with a guitar.

“I think I’ll be a great singer, with a guitar in hand, making delicious dosas for my teammates, and enjoying some rasam rice. I’ll be relaxed and stress-free.”
