Delhi: Rajasthan Royals captain and India’s star batsman Sanju Samson made history in the Kerala Cricket League (KCL) 2025 auction. He was bought by Kochi Blue Tigers for Rs 26.8 lakh. This is the most expensive bid of KCL ever.

First season as a player in KCL

This will be the first season of 30 -year -old Sanju Samson as a player in KCL.

Earlier, he was the brand ambassador of the league in the first season. With this entry, Kochi’s team is being considered as a strong contender for the title.

A big battle seen in auction

Sanju entered the auction with a base price of Rs 3 lakh. In a few minutes, his price went above 10 lakhs. After a tough competition between many teams, Kochi Blue Tigers spent more than half of the total amount of 50 lakhs i.e.

26.8 lakh rupees and included them in their team.

Old record broken

Earlier, KCL’s biggest bid was Rs 7.4 lakh, which in 2024 Trivandrum Royals. Was installed for Akhil. But this time Samson broke the record at more than three times the price.

Kerala team chance to return to the team

This deal is also considered important because it is Samson’s return under the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA). In December 2024, he was dropped from the team for not taking part in the Vijay Hazare Trophy camp.

Other Kerala players also remained

Apart from Sanju Samson, his fellow players also dominated the auction. Wicketkeeper batsman Vishnu Vinod was bought by Aris Kollam for 13.8 lakhs, which was the second largest bid of the auction. At the same time, experienced all -rounder Jalaj Saxena was included in his team by Alleppey Riples for Rs 12.4 lakh.
