Lucknow. The Indian cricket team has taken shocking decisions in the second Test match being played between India and England on the grounds of Edgbaston. England won the toss and decided to bowl first, but the most discussed topic of the Indian team’s playing XI was two things, sitting outside Jaspreet Bumrah and not including Kuldeep Yadav.

Why didn’t Bumrah and Kuldeep play?

After the toss, when captain Shubman Gill was asked about not joining Kuldeep Yadav in the team, he clearly stated that the team wanted depth in batting, so this time the batting all -rounder was preferred on the spin option. Gill told that we wanted to feed Kuldeep, but the team management decided to bring depth in batting. ” At the same time, the captain said about Jaspreet Bumrah, “This has been done only for his workload management.”

Three big changes

The Indian team has made three major changes in this match. Akashdeep will play Akashdeep in place of Jaspreet Bumrah, Nitish Kumar Reddy in place of Sai Sudarshan, Washington Sundar in place of Shardul Thakur. Significantly, Sai Sudarshan had to face the problem of injury during the first Test, due to which he has been excluded.

Team India’s strategy

For this Test, the Indian team has kept a batting option till number 9. Both Nitish Reddy and Washington Sundar are all-rounders and can contribute to bowling as well as batting. This is expected to balance the team.

India’s playing xi
