The second Test of the series between India and England will be played at Edgbaston ground in Birmingham. The Indian team’s record on this ground has not been special. India takes lead from Pant and Jadeja’s brilliant partnership

The final match of the 2021–22 Test series was played at Edgbaston. In that match, India batted first and lost their 5 wickets for just 98 runs. After this, Ravindra Jadeja, who came to the crease, and Rishabh Pant took over the Indian innings with him. Both batsmen scored centuries and shared a 222 -run partnership for the 5th wicket.

Rishabh Pant scored 146 runs and Ravindra Jadeja scored 104 runs, due to which India scored a big score of 416 runs in the first innings. In response, the England team was reduced to 284 runs and India got a lead of 132 runs in the first innings.

Change in second innings

However, in the second innings, the Indian batsmen flopped badly and the entire team was reduced to just 245 runs. England got a target of 378 runs to win, which he achieved with seven wickets remaining.

In this runchez, along with the half-century of Alex Lease, Joe Root and Johnny Bairstow’s centuries proved to be decisive. India had a good opportunity to win the series in England but had destroyed India’s expectations due to the historic run chase of England.
