Delhi: Sachin Tendulkar, India’s batting maestro, turned 51 on Wednesday and it was an occasion for celebration as he is worshipped like a demi-god in the country. While fans and former teammates wished him on his birthday, it was his opening partner and friend Virender Sehwag’s post that went viral. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Sehwag admitted that he was privileged for years to bat with him. The former opener also wished Tendulkar good health.

His post read: “To a man who was a hope, who taught us that we can do it and a perfect role-model for all youngsters . Someone with whom i had the privilege of batting together for 14 years, a very happy 51st birthday @sachin_rt paaji Ishwar aapko achhi sehat aur khushali hamesha de.”

Tendulkar owns most major records in cricket, Tendulkar was also the first cricketer to hit a double hundred in an ODI. He is till date the only cricketer to hit 100 international centuries. And finally, he also won the 2011 ODI World Cup.

Tendulkar is currently associated with the Mumbai Indians team as the mentor. The batting maestro is also quite active on social space nowadays. He often opines on matches and performances.
