One year of rohit sharma t20i retirement: On 29 June 2024, Team India won the T20 World Cup title for the second time. After this victory, the then T20 captain of the Indian team Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from this format. After which Suryakumar Yadav was made the new T20 captain of Team India.

Team India has played a total of five T20 series in the last one year. Out of which three T20 series were played outside India and two T20 series were played in the house. • Sri Lanka tour 2024 – After winning all three matches, India made a clean sweep 3–0.
• Domestic Series 2024/25 against Bangladesh – India won 3–0.
• South Africa tour 2024/25 – India won the 3–1 series by winning 3 out of 4 matches.
• Domestic Series 2024/25 against England – India won the 4–1 series by winning 4 out of 5 matches.
