“I scored hundreds against Pakistan because of the abuses I got from Shoaib Akhtar and Shahid Afridi”: Virender Sehwag

Former India player Virender Sehwag recently opened up about his experience of playing against Pakistan. He made his ODI debut against the Men in Green and scored just 1 run off 2 balls.

However, Pakistan became his favorite opponent, and the aggressive batter went on to score daddy hundreds against the arch-rivals. Viru scored a triple hundred in one of the Test matches against Pakistan.

“I made my ODI against Pakistan in Mohali. The moment I came out to bat, Shoaib Akhtar started abusing me. From the bowler’s mark, he went with me to the 30-yard circle. He then asked Shahid Afridi to take care of me. Afridi started saying cuss words till I reached the crease.

“My stay was short-lived as I was dismissed after scoring just 1 run off 2 balls. However, they were after me till the time I was in the middle. I had never heard of that kind of abuse before. When I went back to the dressing room, I decided to give them a befitting reply through my performances with the bat. A
