ENG vs IND 1st Test Highlights

Day 01

Batting first, India made a solid start scoring 91 runs for first wicket, however, Jaiswal went on to score a century at Leeds.
Following him Indian captain Shubman Gill went on to score century and by the end of day 01 India remained in strong position of 359/3.

Day 02

Resuming the game on day 02, Risabh Pant went on to score century with India scoring 471 runs in their first innings. Ben Stokes and Josh Tonuge picked four wickets each to dismantle India’s batting order.
Starting their innings, England went on to score 209 runs by the end of day 02 with Ollie Pope scoring a hundred.

Day 03

Resuming the game on day 03, Harry Brook went on to score 99 runs narrowly missing a century. However, England went on to score 465 runs in their first innings where Bumrah picked a five wicket haul while Prasidh Krishna and Siraj picked 3 and 2 wickets respectively.
India started their second innings where they went on to score 90/2 by the end of day 03.

Day 04

On Day 04, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant went on to score centuries helping the side to post 364 runs in their second innings.
England started their second innings with a target of 370 runs and scored 21 runs by the stumps.

Day 05

Resuming the game on day 05, Ben Duckett went on to score 149 runs slowiy driving the side towards victory.
England secured a comfortable five wicket victory in the first test of the five match series registering the first win of the WTC 2025-27 cycle.
