On the second day of the Handingley Test, Rishabh Pant scored his seventh Test century and left MS Dhoni behind. He has become the wicketkeeper to score the most Test century for India. At the same time, Indians have also become the most runs scorer as wicketkeeper in SENA countries.
Delhi: On the second day of the first Test match being played in Leeds, Rishabh Pant took another great record. India’s vice -captain Pant completed his 7th Test century on the second morning of the Hadingley Test against England.
He completed this century with the help of 10 fours and 4 sixes in 146 balls.On the first day, Shubman Gill and Pant returned unbeaten and on the second day both of them troubled the English bowlers a lot. Gill reached close to 150 runs, while Pant again explained why he is one of the most special Test players in India at this time.
Pant has now become the wicketkeeper to score the most centuries in Tests for India.
He scored the seventh century while breaking MS Dhoni’s record. Dhoni had six centuries in the name of Wriddhiman Saha.Pant has also taken away the record of scoring the most runs as a wicketkeeper on the land (SENA countries – South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia).
He left behind Dhoni’s record of 1731 runs and has now reached the top of this list. The special thing is that Pant did this feat in less innings and with better average.
