Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill scored hundreds to take Team India’s score to 359/3 on Day 1 of the first Test against England. Jaiswal amassed 101 runs while new captain Gill remained unbeaten on 127. Rishabh Pant scored a fifty for the visiting team.

KL Rahul, the right-handed batter, accumulated a well-compiled 42 runs.
