Shubman Gill: Ever since Virat Kohli’s star player Virat Kohli retired from Test format, it has been constantly a matter of discussion. A discussion is also going on about the fact that since Shubman Gill has become the Test captain of India, he has started following the map of Virat Kohli.
You can understand this from the fact that the way Virat Kohli was seen giving priority to Test in his cricket career, Shubman Gill is also doing the same. Not only this, now he is also ready to bat at number 4 instead of Virat.
Virat Kohli worked to give the most importance to Test format during his cricket career. Similarly, when Shubman Gill was also asked whether it is more important for him to win the Test series in England or the IPL title, he clearly said that the IPL comes every year but you do not get much opportunities in England tour as captain.
This makes it understand that like Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill also has the mentality to give priority to the Test format. Even though he does not have the experience of playing Test in England, but he is not feeling any kind of pressure.
After Virat’s retirement, it has been a matter of discussion for a long time that which player will be launched at his batting position. Now this suspense seems to be almost over, because Shubman Gill’s batting order has been decided.
On this, he himself said that I and Head Coach Gautam Gambhir have discussed this and both of them have agreed that I will bat in number four in place of Virat Kohli. As a captain, Shubman Gill will try his best to create a safe and positive environment for the players. Gill will have an important responsibility in the absence of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli.
