India have added 23-year-old KKR bowler Harshit Rana to the squad for the five-match series against England.

The news was announced by the official broadcasting channel. The series opener will start on June 20 at Headingley. Jasprit Bumrah will lead the bowling unit and play three games. Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, and Prasidh Krishna are also part of the pace unit.

Harshit Rana’s previous red-ball game came during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, also his maiden Test series. Rana picked up four wickets in the Adelaide Test. Rana was recently part of the India A squad that played two unofficial Tests against the England Lions.

He also played an intra-squad match against the senior team and is the only member of the India A squad who has stayed back in England.

His addition will boost the fast bowling attack, considering Bumrah’s limited presence in the series.

India squad for the England Test series
