IND vs Eng: The Indian Test team is once again on the mission of creating history on the land of England. In the five -match Test series starting from June 20, Team India has the opportunity that the fans have been waiting for 17 years. The last time India defeated England in his house under the captaincy of Rahul Dravid in 2007. Let’s take a look at that historic series when India won the series in England.
India played a great game in that three Test series of 2007. The first Test match was played at Lord’s, which was a draw due to rain. This was followed by the second match in Nottingham, where the Indian team won by 7 wickets. The third and final match took place at The Oval and that too ended on a draw. In this way, India won this series 1-0 and registered a historic victory in England.
The victory of the second Test proved to be a turning point for India. England’s first innings in that match was reduced to just 198 runs, in which Zaheer Khan played an important role with 4 wickets. In response, India scored a huge score of 481 runs. England’s second innings was limited to 355 runs and India needed only 73 runs to win, which Team India achieved by losing 3 wickets. In this match, Zaheer Khan also took 5 wickets in the second innings and was elected player of the match.
Some Indian players also performed tremendously throughout the series. Dinesh Karthik was at the forefront of batting. He scored 263 runs in six innings, including three half -centuries. At the same time, Sourav Ganguly also showed his class by scoring 249 runs. In bowling, Zaheer Khan took the most 18 wickets. He took 4 wickets twice and 5 wickets once. Apart from him, Anil Kumble took 14 wickets and Rudra Pratap Singh took 12 wickets.
