James Anderson turned back the clock as he picked his first ever wicket in T20 cricket after a gap of 3935 days, which is 10 years, nine months, two weeks and a day, if one wants to imagine how huge the gap is.
The feat was achieved by Anderson on June 1 while he was playing for Lancashire Lightning against Durham at Chester-Le-Street. Anderson, who had even signed up for the Indian Premier League (IPL), but could not make it to the final shortlist.
But the 43-year-old had made up his mind early this year that he wanted to play as his body was nowhere near retirement, and he finally made it to the Lightning, playing 11 in the T20 Blast 2025.
The first wicket for Anderson came via Graham Cook getting caught by Chris Green at mid-off. After that, the veteran went on to claim three more wickets for the Lightnings as they restricted Durham to 150/6. In the end, Lancashire went on to chase the target with four wickets in hand.
