IPL 2024: Lucknow Super Giants Appoint Lance Klusener As Their Assistant Coach Ahead Of 17th Edition

Lucknow Super Giants have appointed former South African all-rounder Lance Klusener as their new assistant coach ahead of the IPL 2024.

Klusener will join head coach Justin Langer and fellow assistant coach S Sriram in Super Giants' team management for the 17th season of the tournament.

He has had stints as head coach of Afghanistan and batting coach of South Africa and Zimbabwe and also worked with Tripura in the Indian domestic circuit.

Klusener guided Guyana Amazon Warriors to win their maiden CPL title last year as he gears up to reunite with West Indies pace sensation Shamar Joseph.

Both Klusener and Joseph had previously worked together at Amazon Warriors in the CPL and the latter's inclusion in the LSG side came as Mark Wood's replacement.

Flower, who spent two seasons at LSG after their tournament debut in 2022 before parting ways to join Royal Challengers Bangalore for the same role.

Another sensational move came when mentor Gautam Gambhir decided to leave LSG and join his former IPL side Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of the next season.

In the most recent decision, Lucknow Super Giants appointed West Indies wicketkeeper-batter Nicholas Pooran as their new vice-captain by replacing Krunal Pandya.

After making their tournament debut in the 2022 season, LSG have successfully made it to the playoffs in both of their first two seasons.
