Is Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Sanju Samson planning to leave the franchise in order to join Chennai Super Kings (CSK)? Samson’s latest social media activity started the speculation.

The right-handed batter shared a picture with his wife and captioned it: “Time to MOVE..!!” The yellow line on the road suprised some of the fans.

CSK can trade Samson from RR. Chennai can also sign Samson in mini-auction if he is released by Rajasthan Royals.

Ruturaj Gaikwad is the captain of the five-time champions.

Sanju Samson’s career

Sanju Samson was with the Kolkata Knight Riders when the franchise won the title in IPL 2012. However, he was included in the playing XI. He was signed by RR in 2013 and stayed with them till 2015.

He played for the Delhi Capitals (then known as Delhi Daredevils) in IPL 2016 and 2017. Samson started his second innings with Rajasthan Royals in 2018 and he was retained before the IPL 2022 and 2025 mega-auctions.

He was appointed as their captain 2021.

He led the team to the final of IPL 2022. The Royals have been victorious in 33 and lost 32 matches under Samson.

He has scored 4027 runs, the most by a RR batter. Jos Buttler, who now plays for Gujarat Titans, is in second position, with 3055 runs.
