On Sunday, June 8, Priya Saroj, a Member of Parliament, was visibly emotional as she exchanged engagement rings with Indian cricketer Rinku Singh at the luxurious Centrum Hotel in Lucknow. The intimate ceremony was attended by guests from the cricketing and political heavyweights.

Among the distinguished attendees were Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, actress Jaya Bachchan, MP Ram Gopal Yadav, BCCI Vice-President, and Congress MP Rajeev Shukla. Rinku Singh donned a classic sherwani, while Priya Saroj chose a pink lehenga for the occasion.

The couple, who were introduced through mutual friends, had previously shared their pre-engagement photo shoot on social media, which quickly became viral. Before their engagement, Rinku Singh and his family paid a visit to the Chaudhera Wali Vichitra Devi Temple in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, to seek blessings.

Rinku Singh, a native of Aligarh, gained attention in IPL 2023 when he hit five consecutive sixes in an over against Gujarat Titans, securing a dramatic win for the Kolkata Knight Riders. Meanwhile, Priya Saroj made a mark in 2024 after her victory in the Lok Sabha elections at the age of 25.

Before entering the political arena, Priya worked as a lawyer in the Supreme Court. She holds a degree in arts from Delhi University and later degree from Amity University in Noida.
