Virender Sehwag has chosen his ‘Team of the Tournament’ as soon as the IPL 2025 is over. In this team, he has given a place to players who performed brilliantly, whether it is scoring or taking wickets. The special thing is that Sehwag has made Shreyas Iyer captain who leads Punjab Kings to the finals. However, the shocking thing is that Sehwag has not given two Indian batsmen a place in his team despite playing important innings for his team this season.
After the exciting season of IPL 2025, now former cricketer Virender Sehwag has chosen his ‘Team of the Tournament’. In this team, he has chosen Sai Sudarshan of Gujarat Titans and Virat Kohli of RCB for the opening. Both batsmen batted brilliantly the whole season. While Sudarshan scored 759 runs, Kohli hit 657 runs.
In the middle order, Sehwag has included Nicholas Puran, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav and Heinrich Klassen. Puran scored 524 runs at a strike rate of 196 while Surya hit 717 runs and Klassen also added 487 runs with his aggressive batting. The responsibility of captaincy has been given to Shreyas Iyer who took Punjab to the finals.
In bowling, Sehwag has paid attention to diversity. Josh Hazlewood, famous Krishna, Noor Ahmed, Jaspreet Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav have been found in the team. The famous won the purple cap with 25 wickets, while Bumrah and Hazlewood also made a great contribution. RCB’s finisher Jitesh Sharma has been selected by Sehwag as ‘Impact Player of the Tournament’. Jitesh scored 261 runs in 15 matches at an average of 37.
The shocking thing in all this is that Sehwag has kept Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill out of their team of the tournament despite a great performance in IPL 2025, which may seem to be shocking to the fans.
