Rohit Sharma‘s decision to retire from Test cricket has undeniably created a substantial void, and his candid remarks, often caught on the stump mic, will certainly be missed by fans.

His famous one-liner, “koi garden me ghoomta hua nahi dikhna chahie” (No one should be seen strolling around), was made during the second Test between India and England in Vizag. With Rohit and Virat Kohli retired, the Indian team left for England on Friday to prepare for the highly anticipated five-match series.

When Rishabh Pant reached the Mumbai airport, he enjoyed a light-hearted exchange with the paparazzi.

At one point, the Indian wicketkeeper, who now serves as vice-captain in the Test format, was asked about Rohit Sharma’s current whereabouts, and his response caused much amusement.

“Where’s Rohit bhai?” one of the paparazzi asked Rishabh Pant, who was standing a bit far away from the cameras.

In response, the Lucknow Super Giants captain in the IPL said, “Woh garden mein ghoom rahe hain. (He’s walking around in the garden).”

When asked whether he would miss Rohit, Pant responded affirmatively, which brought smiles to the waiting camerapersons.

Rohit had been heard on the stump mic during the Visakhapatnam Test against England in 2024, where he expressed disappointment over his team’s lack of energy on the field.

After the series victory over England, Rohit shared an Instagram post with the caption, “Garden mein ghoomne wale bande.”
