Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Punjab Kings by 6 runs to win the final of the IPL 2025. It is their first trophy in 18 years of the tournament. Chasing 191 runs in the summit clash, Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya gave a good start to the franchise, but the dismissal of the latter put the team on the back foot.
Prabhsimran, Shreyas Iyer and Josh Inglish departed in quick succession, and the remaining batters couldn’t maintain the asking run-rate. Iyer’s team was restricted to 184/7 in 20 overs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Krunal Pandya took two wickets each.
Earlier, RCB posted 190/9, with Virat Kohli scoring 43 runs. Arshdeep Singh and Kyle Jamieson took three wickets each. Kohli was seen crying in the last over.
