Delhi: In the ODI of World Cup League 2, Nepal won a sensational victory by defeating Scotland on the last ball in Dundi. Chasing the target of 297 runs, the Nepal team won the last ball of the last over and shocked Scotland.
This victory for Nepal, who occupies the second place from below in the table of eight teams, has special matters, especially because they lost a practice match against the second line team of Scotland A few days ago.
Batting first after winning the toss, Scotland scored a strong score of 296/7 thanks to half -century innings of Charlie Tier (80) and Finley McReth (55).
In response, Nepal started well and opener Khushal Bhurtel scored 55 runs, but the team was trapped in 192/7 at one time. In such a situation, all -rounder Karan Casey, who came at number 9, changed the attitude of the match. He scored an unbeaten 65* runs in just 41 balls, including four sixes.
After scoring 18 runs in the 49th over, Nepal needed 7 runs in the final over. However, Scotland bowler Mark Watt raised hopes by dismissing Sandeep Lamichna in the first over. Nevertheless, a wide and final batsman brought Karan on a strike. Karan took the score twice or two.
