The second qualifier match of IPL 2025 was played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, in which Punjab Kings defeated Mumbai Indians by 5 wickets in a thrilling manner. With this victory, Punjab Kings have made it to the IPL final for the first time, where they will face Royal Challengers Bangalore. The special thing is that both teams have not been able to win the title even once, so this time IPL is going to get a new winner.
Mumbai Indians batted first after losing the toss and scored 203 runs losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma scored a brilliant 44-44 runs, but the target could not prove to be quite big. Punjab Kings won the match in the 19th over on the basis of captain Shreyas Iyer’s unbeaten innings of 87 runs.
The most emotional moment of the match came when Shreyas Iyer won the team by hitting the victorious six. After this, Mumbai captain Hardik Pandya sat down on the ground. He was very hurt by defeat. Then Punjab’s Australian all -rounder Marcus Stoynis approached him and tied them up. This sportsmanship price of Stoynis is being appreciated everywhere.
Now everyone’s eyes are on the final match to be held on June 2, where one of the teams of Punjab and RCB will win the IPL trophy for the first time.
