As rain threatens to disrupt the IPL 2025 Qualifier 2 clash between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians in Ahmedabad, fans are eager to know whether there’s a reserve day in place for such a crucial knockout match.

The answer is no—there is no reserve day for Qualifier 2 in this year’s IPL. This means if rain prevents even a 5-over match from taking place before the official cut-off time, the game will be abandoned.

In the event of an abandonment, the team that finished higher in the league stage standings will automatically progress to the final. With Punjab Kings finishing above Mumbai Indians on the points table, they will qualify for the IPL 2025 final on June 3 if the match cannot be completed.

As of now, the ground staff is battling intermittent showers and covers are going on and off. A final decision will depend on how long the weather holds up.
