Rain at the Narendra Modi Stadium caused a long delay in the start of the IPL 2025 Qualifier 2 match between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians. While MI players were frustrated, the PBKS team was seen enjoying themselves. They played a bizarre football game during the delay.

Rain interrupted the start of the proceedings thrice on Sunday after Punjab captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and invited Mumbai to bat first, keeping the overcast conditions in mind. The contest finally started at 9:45 pm.

PBKS were involved in a football game, and the target was Priyansh Arya. The players took turns in their efforts to hit the opening batter, who had his back facing his teammates.

Former India players Harbhajan Singh and Aakash Chopra were left clueless and tried their best to understand the bizarre game but failed to come to a conclusion.

No overs lost in Qualifier 2

The rain arrived when the players were about to enter the field. They had to wait for a long time before the contest started.

Meanwhile, Yuzvendra Chahal was added to the playing XI after recovering from the injury. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians roped in Reece Topley as a replacement for injured Richard Gleeson.
