Joe Root has surpassed Eoin Morgan to become England’s leading run-scorer in one-day internationals. In 179 matches, Root has accumulated 6958 runs at an average of 48.31, with the help of 17 hundreds and 42 fifties. Morgan amassed 6957 runs in 225 games at an average of 39.75 runs. The southpaw hit 13 centuries and 42 half-centuries.

Meanwhile, Root has hit a fifty in the ongoing second one-day internationals against the West Indies. England were 115/4 whole chasing 309 at the time of writing.
