Former Australia batter David Warner has predicted that Royal Challengers Bengaluru would win the Indian Premier League 2025. The 38-year-old also said that Josh Hazlewood would win the Player of the Match in the final on June 3.
The legendary cricketer made the predictions on social media on May 31.
“I think RCB and Josh Hazelwood man of the match,” Warner said in reply to a question from an X user.
RCB qualified for the final after beating Punjab Kings by 8 wickets in Qualifier 1 in New Chandigarh. They will face the winner of Qualifier 2 between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings in the summit clash.
Josh Hazlewood was bought for INR 12.50 crore in the mega auction last year. The 34-year-old has been magnificent for the Bengaluru-based franchise, taking 21 wickets in 11 matches. After missing a few games due to an injury, he returned for the playoffs and took three wickets in Qualifier 1.
“Josh Hazlewood doesn’t stop”: Aakash Chopra
Aakash Chopra hailed the speedster for being at his best despite recent injury concerns.
“Josh Hazlewood doesn’t stop. He recently recovered from an injury but it didn’t impact him against Punjab Kings in Qualifier 1. You are not at your 100 percent after an injury but Hazlewood is a different bowler. He said forget it,” Aakash Chopra said.
The IPL 2025 final will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium on June 3.
