Delhi: Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated the Indian Premier League (IPL) by defeating Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Eliminator match played in Mallanpur on Saturday. Mumbai Indians made a tremendous start batting first. For the team, Johnny Bairstow batted brilliantly and scored 47 runs in just 22 balls. At the same time, Rohit Sharma also got life twice in this match. After this, he scored an excellent 81 runs in 50 balls.

Ashwin talks about Mi’s luck

Former India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin said an interesting thing after this match. Ashwin gave his opinion about the fate of Mumbai Indians and also shared his experience captaining Punjab Kings in 2018.

Ashwin said, “The famous Krishna Purple was in the race for the cap. The way he bowled, he was at the next level. In an over, Johnny Bairstow beat him fiercely and scored 26 runs. He tried to take wickets in 2-3 balls but did not get success. After that the game changed completely.”

The former spinner further said, “After that, a catch was left out. Then Kusal Mendis left the catch off Siraj. Then it became difficult to stop Rohit Sharma. It seemed as God had a hand over Rohit Sharma. Luck was also with him and Rohit took advantage of the opportunity.”

This happens with mi every time

Ashwin said, “I have seen that this happens with Mumbai Indians. In 2018, his condition was bad in a match as the captain of Punjab. He had fallen five wickets for 80 runs in 13 overs. But, then the floodlight went away and a 20-minute break. After that, Kieron Pollard created a storm on the ground and the team scored 180-200 runs.”

He further said, “Mumbai Indians always get lucky support. Of course, you make your own luck, but we have to find out why Mumbai is so lucky”.

It is worth noting that Mumbai Indians have won the title five times so far and Chennai is the highest winning team with Super Kings.

Now Mumbai Indians will face Punjab Kings, where the winning team will go to the final. Punjab Kings lost by 8 wickets against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the last match. However, the Punjab team stood first in the league stage with 19 points.
