Jasprit Bumrah’s Masterclass Helps Mumbai Indians Secure 20-Run Victory Against Gujarat Titans

The Mumbai Indians ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah’s spell has helped the Mumbai Indians to advance to Qualifier 02 of the IPL 2025 season on May 30 at Maharaja Yadavindra International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur.

Mumbai Indians went on to secure a 20-run victory in the Eliminator’s game on Friday’s clash. Despite picking only one wicket, Jasprit Bumrah’s economical spell proved to be his masterclass against the Gujarat Titans.

Batting first, Rohit Sharma and Jonny Bairstow opened the innings while Mohammed Siraj opened the bowling attack. With Bairstow going on for an aggressive start, he scored 47 runs off 22 deliveries before being dismissed by Sai Kishore.

Along with Rohit Sharma, Jonny made an 84-run partnership for the first wicket. With SKY joining Rohit at the crease, Rohit went on to score a fifty.

Meanwhile, Sai Kishore provided another breakthrough, picking the wicket of Suryakumar Yadav for 33 runs. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma went on to score 50-ball 81, pushing the side’s score past 150 runs.

With Rohit Sharma losing his wicket to Prasidh Krishna, Tilak Varma lost his wicket to Siraj for 25 runs. With Hardik Pandya’s 22* runs, Mumbai Indians posted 228 runs in their innings.

In the 229-run chase, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan opened the innings while Trent Boult opened the bowling attack.

With Shubman Gill’s dismissal by Trent Boult in the first over, Kusal Mendis went on to join Sai to post 66 runs in the power play.

However, Kusal Mendis went out for 20 runs on a hit wicket. However, Washington Sundar who joined Sai Sudharsan, went on to score 48 runs before being dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah.

Meanwhile Sai Sudharsan went on score fifty and got dismissed for 80 runs. With his dismissal Gujarat Titans’ lost their momentum with losing the wicket of Sherfane Rutherford and Sharukh Khan for 24 and 13 runs respectively.

However Rahul Tewatia’s 16* runs helped Gujarat Titans to cross 200 runs mark and score 208 runs in the losing cause.
