The thrilling journey of IPL 2025 has reached its most exciting phase - the playoffs. On Tuesday, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) sealed their spot in Qualifier 1 with a commanding six-wicket victory over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
The win was a historic milestone for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), as they also set a new record for most away wins in a single IPL season - seven.
With RCB's victory, the final playoff schedule has now been confirmed, setting up high-stakes clashes between the tournament's top four teams.
RCB will face Punjab Kings, the table-toppers, in the first playoff battle on May 29 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh.
The winner of this clash will advance directly to the IPL 2025 Final.The next day, May 30, will feature the Eliminator between Gujarat Titans, led by Shubman Gill, and Mumbai Indians at the same venue. The losing side will be knocked out, while the winner will move on to Qualifier 2.
The loser of Qualifier 1 will face the winner of the Eliminator in Qualifier 2 on June 1 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The winner of this match will secure the second spot in the final.
All eyes will then turn to the IPL 2025 Final, which will be held on June 3 at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium, the largest cricket venue in the world. One of RCB, Punjab Kings (PBKS), Gujarat Titans (GT), or Mumbai Indians (MI) will lift the coveted trophy.
After the IPL gets over, Team India will travel to England for a five-match Test series.
