RCB achieved the biggest score in its IPL history. This victory gave RCB a ticket to confront Punjab Kings in Qualifier-1, which will give him two opportunities to reach the finals.

Throusing chase of 228 runs

Batting first, Lucknow Super Giants scored a huge score of 227 runs. Rishabh Pant played the captaincy innings. He scored an unbeaten 118 off 61 balls. With this, Mitchell Marsh contributed 67 runs. Due to which the team of Lucknow Super Giants scored 227 runs in 20 overs at the loss of 3 wickets. Nuwan Tushara, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Romario Shepherd took 1–1 wickets for RCB.

The score was challenging for any team, but RCB not only accepted this goal but also achieved it well. RCB’s batting in this run chase surprised everyone. Virat Kohli once again showed his class and not only won the team with his brilliant innings but also set a world record of completing 9000 runs for a team (RCB) in T20 cricket. Apart from Virat, Phil Salat also played a brilliant innings. Virat scored 54 off 30 balls and Salt contributed 30 runs. The opening pair made a fast start during the RCB innings, while the middle order took over and finally the finishers achieved the target by batting aggressively. Captain Jitesh Sharma played the captaincy innings and won the team.

Punjab team compete

With this victory, RCB concluded the league phase while living in Top-2, which is a huge achievement for them. Staying in Top-2 means that now they will play against Punjab Kings in qualifier-1. The winning team will reach the finals directly, while the losing team will get another chance in the qualifier-2. This dual probability is a golden opportunity for RCB, which has long been waiting for its first IPL Trophy.
